1 killed, another in SF's Mission District shooting: police

SAN FRANCISCO -- One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in San Francisco's Mission District early Sunday morning.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in Visitacion Valley shortly after the 12:25 a.m. shooting and accused of being the shooter.

Police responded to the 3000 block of 16th Street after receiving calls about the shooting.

Two victims were found on the ground with gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital, where one victim was declared dead, police said.

The other victim was suffering from major injuries.

The investigation remained open as of Sunday. Police asked anyone with information to call the SFPD at (415) 575-4444.
