2 older adults dead in Monte Sereno house fire, Santa Clara Co. officials say

MONTE SERENO, Calif. -- Two older adults died in a house fire in Monte Sereno early Wednesday morning, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.

Crews responded around 2 a.m. to a fire reported at a two-story home in the 17000 block of Rose Court and arrived to find flames coming through the roof.

Firefighters went inside the house and located the two older adults, who were taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center but succumbed to their injuries there, fire officials said. Their names have not been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
