From 'Abbott' to 'Only Murders,' Disney stars score Actor Awards Noms

LOS ANGELES -- The Actor Awards nominations are in, and The Walt Disney Company is making a strong showing.

Formerly known as the SAG-AFTRA Awards, the annual honors recognize standout performances in film and television.

"Abbott Elementary" star Janelle James joined "Heated Rivalry's" Connor Storrie to announce the nominees for the film and television awards presented by SAG-AFTRA.

On the television side, "Only Murders in the Building" earned a nomination for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, with star Martin Short earning a nod for male actor in a comedy series.

Adam Brody also claimed a spot in the same category for his performance in "Nobody Wants This."

The comedy ensemble category also recognized "Abbott Elementary" and "The Bear."

Among the leading stars, Michelle Williams received a nomination for outstanding performance by a female actor in a television movie or limited series for her role as Molly in FX's "Dying for Sex."

Sterling K. Brown earned recognition with a nod for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for his portrayal of Agent Xavier Collins in the hit series "Paradise."
