Bay Area teens arrested in Sacramento party shooting that killed Uber passenger

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Authorities arrested five teens, including three from the Bay Area, who allegedly killed a rideshare passenger while they were attempting to gun down a rapper outside a Sacramento party last month.

The suspects were trying to target the rapper as he left a "pop-up" party about midnight on March 15 at 4366 Auburn Blvd., according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

The five suspects waited outside the party, where a large crowd had gathered, the sheriff's office said. When they saw the rapper and his associates leaving the event, they got out of a car and allegedly fired about 70 rounds into the crowd.

"Tragically, the gunfire struck two uninvolved victims who were passengers in an Uber attempting to leave the parking lot," the sheriff's office said on social media. The victims weren't affiliated with either group.

A woman inside the car died at the scene and a man who was wounded was taken to a hospital.

On April 20, four suspects were arrested, including two juveniles from Oakland and Sacramento.

The fifth suspect, from Emeryville, fled to Puerto Rico. On Wednesday, he was arrested at San Francisco International Airport and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
