SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco judge on Friday sentenced seven pro-Palestinian protesters to 30 days in jail and six months of probation for shutting down traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge in April 2024.

The protesters, who were also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, will receive credit for time already served, likely reducing their actual jail time to 11 days.

The controversial demonstration halted bridge traffic for hours, triggering intense national debate over the boundaries of free speech versus public safety.
