SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco woman says a San Francisco Chronicle delivery person broke her garage window delivering the paper, and she couldn't get the paper to respond, until 7 On Your Side got involved.
You may remember the 1980s videogame Paperboy. In it, if a paperboy hit a newspaper subscriber's window, the video game player lost points and the resident canceled their subscription.
It's a scenario that hits close to home for Mei Lew, who says in August a Chronicle delivery person hit her garage window with the paper, breaking it.
"One of the glass panels on the garage door was broken, and, when I looked down on the driveway, the newspaper was sitting there with glass on top of it," said Lew.
"They didn't stop or leave any kind of notice," said Lew.
For months, Lew attempted to get in touch with the Chronicle.

"Each time I call, you get somebody different," said Lew. "And still no response."
Finally she tried a different route.
"So then I decided well, maybe it's time to go to the media, so that's when I reached out to KGO," said Lew.
"And then I was contacted by KGO maybe a day later, which I was surprised it was so fast," she continued.
7 On Your Side reached out to the Chronicle and got a response from the publisher himself.

"Our team is actively working on the issue and will let you know when this is resolved," wrote publisher Bill Nagel. "I always want to know when we don't deliver up to expectations."
Lew says the publisher came through, sending her a check for the repairs.
"Thank you channel 7 On Your Side for reaching out to us regarding my complaint and getting this resolved faster than I expected," said Lew.
In the meantime, Lew has boarded up the window and says she's keeping her Chronicle subscription for now.
