FBI arrests man accused of shooting at ABC station in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO -- The man arrested for allegedly firing gunshots at the ABC station in Sacramento is expected to appear in federal court Monday.

Police say 64-year-old Anibal Hernandez Santana was arrested at his Sacramento home early Saturday morning.

Hernandez Santana was released after posting bail. However, hours later, he was arrested by the FBI for allegedly violating a federal statute which has to do with interference to radio communications of stations, which are federally licensed.

Witnesses said they saw Sacramento police take Hernandez Santana into custody as he was eating ice cream in their neighborhood.

"We made eye contact, and right as he passed my windshield I heard on a loudspeaker, a whole bunch of officers say 'Get down on the ground or we're going to shoot," said Angela, who declined to give her last name.

At least three bullets hit the lobby window of the news station Friday afternoon. People were inside the building, but nobody was hurt.

The possible motive in the case remains under investigation.

Hernandez Santana's neighbors said they were surprised by the arrest.

"He was a nice guy. But then after hearing all this, we were we're just like, 'What? What happened?'" said neighbor Emily Alves.
