In honor of its 75th anniversary, Disney's animated classic movie "Alice in Wonderland" gets a stunning new 4K restoration.
Start planning those tea parties! In honor of its 75th anniversary, Walt Disney Studios' "Alice in Wonderland" has been restored and remastered with a stunning new 4K restoration. The classic Disney film will be available to watch on digital and 4K Ultra Blu-ray at home, perfect for a family movie night.
The Walt Disney Film Restoration team took nine months to complete a digital scan of the original "Alice in Wonderland" and extensively addressed dust, warping and age-related wear.
The team also referenced original production artwork preserved by the Walt Disney Animation Research Library in order to make the restoration true to the movie's original concept. The restoration team collaborated with Walt Disney Animation Studios veteran Michael Giaimo to review every shot and refine color and luminance.
Director of Restoration & Library Management Kevin Schaeffer shared in a press release, "The original animation artists' work on 'Alice in Wonderland' is stunning, and we're proud to present it with renewed clarity and vibrancy. This milestone restoration brings new depth and dimension to the film's imaginative world, offering a vibrant presentation for longtime fans and a new generation of audiences alike."
The Blu-ray and Digital release heads down the rabbit hole and features a collection of bonus footage like rare behind-the-scenes and archival material including commentary from the voice of Alice, Kathryn Beaumont, plus, companion shorts such as "Thru the Mirror" featuring Mickey Mouse. Fans will find deleted scenes and music videos including "Beware the Jabberwock" and "If You'll Believe in Me."
