Zoox autonomous taxis welcoming first riders in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Zoox is now letting some people try out its robotaxi service in San Francisco.

The company's new Zoox Explorers program is officially live, with some people being allowed off the waitlist to ride for free.

The program covers most of the SoMa, Mission and Design District neighborhoods.

Riders can select a destination from suggested points of interest, enter a street address, or drop a pin at their destination.
