For one week only, "Avatar: The Way of Water" will be back on the big screen in 3D, beginning Oct. 3.

LOS ANGELES -- Return to the world of Pandora.
The second installation in James Cameron's blockbuster "Avatar" franchise, "Avatar: The Way of Water," is splashing back into theaters globally for a one-week special 3D re-release, beginning October 3.
Along with the re-release comes a new trailer and poster, highlighting its spectacular visual effects, which it won the Academy Award for.
Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, "Avatar: The Way of Water" launches the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure.
The film, which originally released in 2022, grossed more than $2.3 billion worldwide, and became the third highest-grossing film of all time.
Produced by Cameron and his longtime partner Jon Landau, the 20th Century Studios-Lightstorm Entertainment production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet. Newcomers include Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass and Jack Champion.
The screenplay is by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, with story by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. David Valdes and Richard Baneham serve as the film's executive producers.
The third chapter of the franchise, "Avatar: Fire and Ash," will open in theaters worldwide December 19. Watch the trailer here.
