LOS ANGELES -- To me my X-Men! "Avengers: Doomsday" is dropping weekly trailers, and the third one just gave fans a major treat: the X-Men mansion and the return of Cyclops, played by James Marsden.

The first two trailers focused on familiar faces like Steve Rogers and Thor, but this latest release delivers a Marvel first: the X-Men appearing in an "Avengers" film.

Fans also get a glimpse at the return of Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen reprising their roles as Professor X and Magneto.

Playing over the footage, Charles Xavier's voice declares: "Death comes for us all. It's all I know for sure. But the question isn't are you prepared to die. The question is who will you be when you close your eyes."

Cyclops appears on screen, ripping off his goggles in a burst of rage, firing his optic blast straight out of the comic books.

This time, Scott Summers rocks his classic comic-inspired uniform, reminiscent of the animated "X-Men" series.

Keen-eyed fans may notice a giant figure stomping behind Cyclops in the trailer, though the character's identity is still unknown.

The trailer ends with a striking title card: "The X-Men will return in Avengers: Doomsday."

Joe and Anthony Russo are back to direct the Marvel blockbuster, with Robert Downey Jr. returning to star as the villain Doctor Doom.

"Avengers: Doomsday" premieres in theaters December 18.

Before that, "Avengers: Endgame" will have a special re-release in theaters in September.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Marvel Studios and this ABC station.
