AccuWeather Forecast: Warming trend picks up this weekend

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- An unprecedented heat wave is about to hit the Bay Area, with record hot temperatures expected over several days next week.

According to ABC7 meteorologist Drew Tuma, the hottest temperatures ever recorded in March will be arriving Monday. We are expecting to see numerous records broken each day.

Moderate heat risk begins on Sunday, becoming major on Tuesday.

San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose have never seen a 90-degree day in the month of March.

Records in San Francisco go back to 1848, so we have a deep bench of stats to reference.

On Monday, all three of these locations have a very good shot at surpassing 90 degrees. It will feel more like August than March.

This heat is not just for one day. We will see this unprecedented heat wave possibly continue through Friday.

This level affects people sensitive to heat, especially those without access to cooling and hydration. Keep in mind this is our first heat wave of the year and we haven't seen these temperatures since September.
