SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- An unprecedented heat wave is hitting the Bay Area, with record hot temperatures expected this week.
Wednesday is day three of the five-day heat wave across the Bay Area.

Each afternoon this week, we do expect records to be broken. It is another day of record heat with San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, San Rafael, Redwood City, and Livermore all seeing new record highs.
ABC7 Meteorologist Drew Tuma says the hottest cities will be in the low 90s.

A Heat Advisory is in effect through Friday evening, with a Moderate to Major heat risk all week.

Wednesday - Friday are expected to be the hottest days.
This level affects people sensitive to heat, especially those without access to cooling and hydration. Keep in mind this is our first heat wave of the year, and we haven't seen these temperatures since September.
