The game reaches the next level when the sequel hits theaters March 20.

LOS ANGELES -- The wedding night from hell was just the beginning for Grace Le Domas in "Ready or Not."
The hunt continues in a new "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" featurette, pulling back the curtain on the sequel's production with exclusive interviews with Samara Weaving, Elijah Wood and the rest of the ensemble cast.
"The end of the first movie, I'm sat on some stairs smoking a cigarette, and this one starts the same," Weaving said in the featurette, noting that the sequel picks up right where the first film left off. The footage showcases Grace (Samara Weaving) waking up in a medical bed with an oxygen mask and a wrapped hand before showing more footage of her, once again covered in blood, smoking in front of the burning house.
The sequel raises the stakes as Grace discovers she has reached a new, deadlier tier of the nightmarish game. This time, she must protect her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton), while being hunted by four rival families. To survive, Grace must claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world.
"We are quite literally a continuation," said Sarah Michelle Gellar, who joins the cast as Ursula Danforth. Gellar noted that horror legend David Cronenberg plays her father in the film, a casting choice she called "legend."
The featurette highlights the practical effects and signature gore that fans expect, including "splotting" fake blood across the set and massive explosions. "How do we surprise the audience if they already know people are gonna explode?" Weaving joked.
The film also introduces Elijah Wood as The Lawyer, who teased a brutal opening for the sequel. "We have an insane death within the first five minutes of the film," Wood said. "It sets the tone of where the film's gonna go from there."
For Weaving, the sequel offered some unexpected career highlights. "Screaming profanities at Elijah Wood... I did not realize it was on my bucket list," she laughed.
Who will win the High Seat and rule them all? Fans will have to see who survives the night when "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" hits theaters March 20.
