Body recovered in San Francisco Bay near Ferry Building

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- An investigation is underway after a body was found in the San Francisco Bay Sunday.

The person was discovered near the Ferry Building and taken to a nearby fire station.

No other information has been released.

It's not clear if the body is connected to the boat that sank near Alcatraz last month. One person is still missing after the disaster.

Three people were initially missing after the boat sinking, but two of the bodies found in the bay in the days and weeks after were identified as two of those on board.

Another body was found near the Golden Gate Bridge on July 25, but it was unknown if that body was connected to the disaster.
