SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Monday is a very special birthday as Claude the albino alligator at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco is turning 30.
The Academy of Sciences celebrated his "Hatch Day" early with a party Sunday where museum-goers sang Happy Birthday.
The party was held outside his habitat and Claude was given a special fish cake that biologists made for him and he thanked them by taking a big chomp.

"He's very happy as you can see," Cal Academy of Sciences Communications Director Jeanette Peach said. "So, we don't know the lifespan for an alligator with albinism. We don't know if it's different from a regular alligator. But, we're finding out. so, he's maybe middle aged today. It's a milestone regardless."
Humans were also given cupcakes.
On Monday, a special story time celebrated his "Hatch Day" at the San Francisco Public Library at 10:30 a.m. A mascot Claude was there for photo ops.
