'CMA Country Christmas' brings Louisiana to Nashville this year

This year's "CMA Country Christmas" on ABC will feature a pair of first-time hosts, Jordan Davis and Lauren Daigle who are both from Louisiana.

Daigle is celebrating her Louisiana roots on the show by performing with New Orleans music greats, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

"Honestly, jazz music is what I love so much about Christmas," Daigle told On The Red Carpet. "Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, just those big band, big orchestras, so to have like a little hat tip to the Christmas music that I love, I'm really excited."

"The Pres Hall, I mean that's a Louisiana staple right there," added Davis who has his own special collaboration planned.

"I'm doing 'Go Tell It On the Mountain' with Little Big Town who are some of my favorite voices out there," he said. "So being able to perform with them is going to be awesome."

This year's all-star lineup for the annual holiday season special also includes Megan Moroney, Riley Green, Susan Tedeshi, Derek Trucks and BeBe Winans, plus a brand-new Christmas song from Lady A and Parker McCollum's "CMA Country Christmas" debut.

"This is one of those shows," Lady A's Dave Haywood told On the Red Carpet, "that every year when it comes on, my family, we're all around, gather around and watch it. So it's kind of become a tradition for us to be a part of it for a number of years now."

"I just love Christmas, I love holidays, it's my favorite time of year," Parker McCollum said. "So to be a part of something that, you know, you kinda get to cheat and celebrate Christmas a little bit early, I'll never say no to that."

"CMA Country Christmas" airs December 2 on ABC at 9/8c and streams next day on Hulu and Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
