OAKLAND, Calif. -- BART's Fruitvale Station reopened and service resumed on the Green and Blue lines Monday morning after an earlier closure due to a major medical emergency.

The coroner was called to the station, but BART officials haven't released any other information about the emergency, which interrupted service starting about 6:20 a.m.

About 8:25 a.m., the Fruitvale station reopened and BART trains resumed full service on the Green and Blue lines.

Riders should expect residual delays of up to 20 minutes on the Berryessa Line in all directions, BART officials said.
