
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Forward progress has been stopped for a vegetation fire that broke out in the Lake County, just north of the Bay Area on Sunday afternoon, CAL FIRE says.

As of 7 p.m., the Lake Fire was at 340 acres and 25% contained. It started just after 2 p.m. on Sunday north of the community of Clearlake.
Evacuations were sent out to nearby areas because the fire was exhibiting some erratic behavior and structures were threatened, according to CAL FIRE. But air tankers and fire crews made progress in creating a break line and protecting those buildings.
