Disney+, Hulu bring D23 fan celebration to viewers at home

Subscribers can enjoy Disney+ perks activations, exclusive merchandise, and stream panels and presentations all weekend long.

Disney+ and Hulu announce extensive D23 fan event experiences, including streaming panels, the Disney+ Hulu Experience in Anaheim, exclusive perks, and more.

LOS ANGELES -- Disney+ and Hulu are turning D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event into a massive celebration for fans in Anaheim and those tuning in from home, offering exclusive streaming panels, on-site experiences, perks, and limited-edition merchandise throughout the weekend.

Fans unable to attend D23 in person can stream a selection of panels and showcase presentations globally on Disney+. The streaming schedule kicks off Aug. 14 at 2/1c with the "Beauty and the Beast: A Tale as Old as Time 35th Anniversary Celebration."

On Aug. 15, viewers can catch the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Season 3 Panel" live at 6:30/5:30c, the "Disney Rewind Encore Concert" live at 9:30/8:30c, and the "Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase" live at 10/9c.

Streaming continues Aug. 16 with the "Disney Worldbuilders Panel" featuring Jared Bush, Pete Docter, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Kevin Feige, moderated by Leslie Iwerks, live at 1:15/12:15c. Later that day, "Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration" (recorded live from Disneyland Resort) begins streaming, followed by the "Disney Legends Awards Ceremony" streaming at 9/8c.

At Anaheim Convention Center Hall A, the Disney+ Hulu Experience features a 4D theater, a mystery pin quest, subscription support, and photo-ops inspired by shows like "The Simpsons" and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians." Attendees also can shop exclusive merchandise, including "The X-Files" and "King of the Hill" enamel pins, "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scrubs" trading cards, themed mugs, coasters, and "High School Musical" and "Camp Rock" vinyl soundtracks.

The Disney+ Perks Treat Truck will operate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13-15 near the Downtown Disney District monorail security checkpoint, offering themed donuts and collectible patches. Guests also can collect six limited-edition series patches, featuring shows like "Abbott Elementary" and "Grey's Anatomy," at the Treat Truck, Experience Theater, and select hotels.

Nostalgia takes center stage Thursday, Aug. 13, with the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks DanceParty from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland, celebrating hits from "Hannah Montana," "High School Musical," "The Cheetah Girls," and "Camp Rock."

Eligible members who redeemed a complimentary D23 Gold membership can attend an invite-only, throwback-themed breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Anaheim Convention Center, featuring photo-ops and more.

Meanwhile, the Hulu Animayhem celebration spans the entire month at the Downtown Disney District, featuring themed menu items and a custom chalk art installation from Aug. 13 to Aug. 16.

For fans tuning in from home, Disney+ Perks At Home launches Aug. 14, allowing eligible subscribers to claim a digital pin from Disney Pinnacle by Dapper Labs and access new perks online from collaborators like ESPN College Football and Marvel Studios at disneyplus.com/perks.
