The announcements took place during Disney Jr.'s Let's Play event

ANAHEIM -- Disney Jr. announced its new slate of programming and it's about to get MARVELous for your kids.
This new series features Earth's Mightiest Heroes: Iron Man (Tony Stark), Captain America (Steve Rogers), Hulk (Bruce Banner), Black Panther (T'Challa), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) and Thor. The new series evolved from "Marvel's Iron Man and his Awesome Friends" and will debut in 2027.
This news got our Spidey senses tingling. Two new specials are on the horizon, with Iron Man and the Avengers joining Spidey to stop Ultron and Green Goblin. The first special premieres October 16 on Disney Jr. and the next day on Disney+. A second special will debut in Fall, 2026.
There were several non-Marvel announcements as well.
Ka-chow! This new series builds on the beloved Disney/Pixar "Cars" franchise.
Owen Wilson is back as Lightning McQueen. Also returning are Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Bob Peterson as Chick Hicks and John Ratzenberger as Mack. And we've got some new stars revving things up. Leah Lewis, Yuri Lowenthal and Sheryl Lee Ralph are joining the cast. "Cars: Lightning Racers" will debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in 2027.
Mickey, Minnie and friends get your kids ready for spooky season with this special that debuts September 29 on Disney Jr. and October 2 on Disney+.
Of course Mickey and Minnie are going to get your family ready for the holidays too! This sing-along special will debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+ in December.
Ariel is back as part of World Princess Week. "Disney Jr. Ariel - The Little Mermaid: The Glow Crystals" premieres August 22 on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
Season three of the beloved series, which follows a team of youngsters who are the children of first responders and who live in the fantastical world of Gearbox Grove and the Motopolis, premieres September 15 on Disney Jr. and October 29 on Disney+.
We're "feline" good about this announcement. Ginny, Sparks, Buddy and Bitsy, AKA the "Superkitties" are back for more adventures beginning September 22 on Disney Jr. and October 1 on Disney+. Get a sneak peek HERE.
This series has been renewed! Season two premieres in 2027 and season three in 2028 on Disney Jr. and Disney+. Season one is currently streaming on Disney+ with more episodes to come this fall.
The highly-anticipated third season will see our young Jedi explore the world of droid care. They'll befriend a droid shop owner named Dotti and three new droids: Beepers, Dozer and Gigi. Watch their Jedi adventures this fall on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
And there's casting news for two Disney Jr. series.
Ariel Winter is returning as Sofia. She'll be joined by Wayne Brady as Clover, Tim Gunn as Baileywick, Eric Stonestreet as Minimus, Sara Ramirez as Queen Miranda and Travis Willingham as King Roland. The series returns in 2026 on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
This new series, debuting in 2026 on Disney Jr. and Disney+, is inspired by a children's book written by former Super Bowl champion Martellus Bennett.
Amari McCoy will star as A.J., Martellus Bennett will voice her father, Marty, and singer Jhené Aiko voices her mom, Siggi. Juliet Donenfeld will play A.J.'s best friend Jessie, Innocent Ekakitie plays Jazz, and David Mitchell is A.J.'s bunny sidekick Theo. On top of that, Meghan Trainor will have a recurring role as A.J.' s best friend Jessie's mom.
The announcements were made as part of Disney Jr.'s "Let's Play" event at Disney's California Adventure Park. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television spoke with On The Red Carpet at the event.
"We are bringing our stories and characters to life in a meaningful way for the kids and for our families," Davis said. "We have so much more to share and I cannot wait for kids to see our shows."
