'Toy Story 5' final trailer drops as tickets go on sale

LOS ANGELES -- "Ah, it's good to be back."

Those are the words from Woody in the final trailer for Disney and Pixar's "Toy Story 5," which officially launched ticket sales today ahead of its highly anticipated June 19 theatrical release.

"It's been too long, Woody," Buzz Lightyear replies in the footage, welcoming back the cowboy as the classic toy box crew faces a modern crisis: the addiction to electronic screens.

The new trailer footage teases a modern playground battle between classic toys and screen time. Audiences get a glimpse of Bonnie's new favorite tech gadget, a smart tablet named Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), as it showcases a world where Bonnie and her peers are glued to their screens.

When Jessie steps up to lay down the law with the device, the digital rival quickly fires back.

"No touching, Jessica," Lilypad replies.

"Oh no," the other toys erupt in shock. "She used the J-word."

What follows is a nostalgic montage of scenes showing Jessie and the gang in action, being played with just like they used to be. But the joy is short-lived as the reality of a tech-focused world sets in.

"First we were playing, then the world started changing," Jessie says over the montage.

The nostalgic montage takes a dark turn as the toys find themselves trapped in a box inside the garage. Surrounded by the darkness, a panicked Rex asks, "Are we getting donated?"

Cut to a different scene back in Bonnie's bedroom, and the threat becomes real as Lilypad declares to a room full of toys, "Bonnie doesn't want to play with toys anymore. She needs me."

Despite the threat of tech replacing them, the toys refuse to give up on their Bonnie.

When asked what her gut says they should do, Jessie responds: "Bonnie still needs us. Our time ain't over yet."

But taking on the digital age won't be a solo mission. As Buzz teases at the end of the trailer, "We're gonna need backup."

To help fight the screen-time battle, Disney and Pixar also announced two additions to the voice cast today: music superstar Bad Bunny and Tony Award-winner Alan Cumming.

Bad Bunny joins the "Toy Story 5" ensemble as "Pizza with Sunglasses," a cool and mysterious toy who belongs to a small but mighty community of forgotten playthings hidden away in an abandoned backyard shed.
Meanwhile, Alan Cumming voices "Evil Bullseye," an alter ego of Woody's usually silent horse.

Directed by Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton, "Toy Story 5" will see the return of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack alongside this new voice ensemble.

"Toy Story 5" hits theaters June 19. Tickets are available now wherever they are sold.
