VIDEO: SF police reunite stolen dog with owner, arrest dognapping suspects
SAN FRANCISCO -- A mini labradoodle that was stolen Wednesday evening in San Francisco's Marina District was found by police a few hours later.
The dog, named Easton, was reported missing about 5:45 p.m. in the area of Lombard and Webster Streets, San Francisco police said in a news release.
Easton's owner told officers she had briefly left the dog tied to a stroller while she went inside a daycare center. When she came back outside, the dog was gone.
Surveillance video released by police shows the dog atop a rolling cart being pushed away by two suspects. Officers searched the area and tracked the suspects to the 200 block of Golden Gate Avenue in the Tenderloin District.
About two hours after the dog was taken, police spotted the suspects and the dog coming out of a doorway.
The suspects were detained, and the stolen dog was reunited with its owner, police said.
The suspects were not identified and police didn't release information about charges in the case.
