Disabled BART train in SF causes delays; 2nd issue in over 12 hours

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- BART service is recovering after an equipment problem on a train in San Francisco caused major delays Wednesday morning, the agency says.

BART says the issue was at the 16th Street Mission station, where a stuck train is now being towed to Daly City. This has caused delays, and BART is single-tracking between 24th Street and Embarcadero.

Muni is providing service between Embarcadero and Daly City.

Red line service has been restored after briefly being impacted between Richmond and Millbrae stations. There is limited Green line service between Berryessa and Macarthur stations.

This is the second issue in just over twelve hours, after there was another system-wide delay on BART during Tuesday's evening rush hour that frustrated commuters.
