OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- BART says Green and Red line service has been restored after an equipment problem on the track near the West Oakland station impacted trains for hours Monday morning.
There is now direct train service from Berryessa to Daly City and Millbrae to Richmond, but delays remained as of 11:20 a.m.

It was a track switch problem, marking the second time in two business days that issues with BART led to delays for riders.
All 50 BART stations had service Monday, but cuts to the Red and Green lines led to system wide delays.
While the cause of the malfunction isn't clear yet, this disruption adds to a long list of others going back months.
On November 21, last Friday, vandalism was believed to be behind a disruption. BART says that it was not connected to other disruptions this year.

Other recent disruptions include October 20 and 27, when there were issues on the Transbay Tube.
On September 5, there was a computer-related issue that caused systemwide delays.
On August 29, riders were left stranded after the brakes overheated and smoke filled the Transbay Tube.
And on May 20, there was a fire on the tracks, shutting down the Green Line service for days.
