Flaring at Valero Refinery due to mechanical issue with nitrogen plant

BENICIA, Calif. (KGO) -- The Valero Refinery has reported flaring Wednesday morning due to a mechanical issue with their nitrogen plant, the Benicia Fire Department said.

The refinery tells the fire department that the flare stacks will be operating intermittently for several hours.

Fire officials say they will continue to monitor the situation but they don't anticipate any off-site health impacts.
