Sonoma Co. home on the verge of collapse amid landslide threat

GUERNEVILLE, Calif. (KGO) -- The owners of a home in Guerneville have been told to get out as their house is on the brink of collapse.

The home sits on a hillside near Neeley Road and Orchard Avenue.

Officials are worried about potential landslides and falling trees as this latest storm moves in.

They've red tagged the home, after water damaged an erosion control barrier.

"The water finds a way, is pretty much what everybody around here says, and so the situation is- is that it did go under and lift up the shotcrete barriers," said Sabrina Foss. "And this happened around 2:15 yesterday, it started, and it was a hole. There was a hole here that's now buried, and it just kept going."

Officials have told neighbors to be prepared to evacuate if conditions get worse.
