Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes has become the latest to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"I feel born again today. I feel complete today," Rhymes said Friday.

Radio personality "Big Boy" emceed the dedication ceremony for the 2,818th star. Chuck D and LL Cool J also spoke.

"When I think about Busta Rhymes: awe-inspiring power, commitment to his craft.. Commitment to excellence as an artist and performer...Busta was born to do something universal," Cool J said.

Rhymes got the star in the category of Recording. His music career was launched with his debut album "The Coming" in 1996, but his sophomore album "When Disaster Strikes..." cemented him as a trailblazing rapper and performer.

Top hits include "Touch It," "Break Ya Neck" and ""Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See."

Since then, he has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

"The brother's career is magic," LL Cool J said. "... He's a lyricist. He's a leader of the new school who's become one of the leaders of all schools. That's pretty powerful."
