Curtis, Lohan bring the heart, humor to an even 'Freakier Friday'

HOLLYWOOD -- Twenty-two years after they made "Freaky Friday" together, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are back for a new chapter: "Freakier Friday." They once again play mom and daughter.

"And it felt like riding a bike. It felt like it was just yesterday when we got on set. It felt like no time had passed, which is wild," said Lohan.

But this time out, the body swapping also involves another family member and someone about to join the family.

"I am younger today than I was 22 years ago when we made that movie. I feel younger. My mind is younger. My creativity is on steroids," said Curtis.

"I wanted to wait until I felt like, OK, I miss making movies and being on set and stuff," said Lohan. "And I feel like I'm there and I'm in that now."

Vanessa Bayer was happy to be invited to the "sequel" party.

Things just got freakier. Watch a behind-the-scenes look at Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in "Freakier Friday." In theaters August 8.

"Honestly, I got to play such a fun role but I would have played any role to be in this. I mean, how iconic to be with Jamie and Lindsay," said Bayer.

Sophia Hammons is also new to the cast.

"The whole point of the body swap is to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. And I think it's such a fun, loving film but with so much depth," Hammons said.

Chad Michael Murray returns to the cast as well.

"Don't judge me if I'm wrong because I don't think I am but this movie is just as good, if not better, than the first. It's that good," said Murray.

"Disney movies are all about love, right? Heart, humor, heart, humor, heart, humor. It's like a peanut butter cup, heart and humor, and when you get it right, it's really yummy. And I think this is pretty yummy," said Curtis.

You're going to have to wait just a little while to see "Freakier Friday" in theaters. It opens Aug. 8.
