A Macy's spokesperson told ABC7, "the store was safely evacuated, screened, and closed as scheduled for the evening."

It has since reopened for business as usual on Sunday.

"We appreciate the quick response and thorough work of the San Francisco Police Department," Macy's said in the statement.
