Man stabbed at Caltrain station in Redwood City: sheriff

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- A man was stabbed and seriously injured at the Caltrain station in Redwood City on Wednesday evening, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Just before 5 p.m., deputies were sent to the station on a report of a stabbing that occurred on the platform.

According to investigators, a man from San Mateo sustained serious injuries and was taken to a trauma center for care.

No suspect has been identified yet but detectives believe it was an isolated incident and that there is no threat posed to the community, the Sheriff's Office said.

The Sheriff's Office will share updates as additional information becomes available, they said.
