Inside the making of Comic-Con's towering 10-foot Galactus costume

SAN DIEGO -- If you were at San Diego Comic-Con this year, you may have spotted one of the biggest cosplays ever.

A massive Galactus costume made its way through the convention floor, and its creator shares that "nobody in the world has made anything this large."

Cosplay has always been a major draw at Comic-Con, and 2025 was no different. From "Star Wars" icons to anime legends and cartoon classics, fans brought out their best looks but few could match the scale of this cosmic Marvel villain.

The towering Galactus was the work of Tom DePetrillo, owner of Extreme Costumes. He and his team of three artists spent months bringing the costume to life.

"We started planning this out over a year ago," DePetrillo told On The Red Carpet. "It was four months of manufacturing for myself and three other artists so four artists in total for four months."

Wearing the suit isn't easy, either. "The average person would find it incredibly strenuous," he said. "But with years of training, one could do that."

It could be the largest costume in the world! DePetrillo already holds the Guinness World Record for largest costume, and this Galactus suit tops his previous record by 6 inches, standing an impressive 10 feet, 8 inches tall.

Galactus isn't just conquering convention floors, he's also headed to the big screen. The character appears in the upcoming "Fantastic Four" film, played by actor Ralph Ineson. Watch "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" in theaters now.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Marvel Studios and this ABC station.
