
A simple gesture from a toddler has sparked emotional responses around the world.
"It just melted my heart like I wanted that moment forever," Hudson Drew's mother, Ashlyn said.
Ashlyn's took a video as the boy took his little tray to join a man who was dining alone.

"He asked where the older man's kids were. I was like, 'I don't know, they might have moved away,' and he didn't like that, so he went over there and asked if he could sit with him."
The video went viral on social media.
But it turns out, the perfect strangers have a special connection.

People in town helped identify the mystery man as Dan Taylor.
Turns out Dan was close with Ashlyn's great grandparents, aka Hudson's great-great grandparents, who passed away in 2024.
"I said, 'George and Dorothy Kerlick.' he goes, 'She used to make my sauerkraut for me," Ashlyn said.
Dan said his day was made when Hudson came over to ask if he could join him.
"It was so unexpected. He was, he was a jewel," Dan said.
