
BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Traffic on I-80 was backed up between Emeryville and Richmond in the East Bay Sunday evening due to a fatal motorcycle accident.
Traffic backup started on I-80 in Berkeley near Gillman Street. The backup was about 8 miles before lanes reopened around 7:30 p.m.

One westbound lane was open, and all eastbound lanes were closed at the time of the accident that happened shortly after 3 p.m.
California Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist went over the center divide, fell into oncoming traffic and died.
