We got a sneak peak of the upgrades

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Three schools in the Mount Diablo Unified School District have been transformed with a remodel inside and out, and the public got their first look on Tuesday before the first day of school on Wednesday.
There was a ribbon-cutting for the renovation at Mt. Diablo Elementary in Clayton, with another one at Meadow Homes Elementary in Concord.
ABC7 also visited Rio Vista Elementary in Bay Point.

Not only was the outside of the campus of all three schools modernized, but also the interior and just about everything else.
The classrooms have been renovated from floor to ceiling.
There is now air conditioning in the multi-use buildings.
There's also technology upgrades like new wireless access points and new emergency response systems.
The district superintendent tells me that the difference made because of the renovations goes beyond what the eye can see.
"Really, what it does is it just gives folks a sense of pride. And it creates an environment where students can learn, be proud of their school, have the latest and greatest technology and equipment and furniture," said Dr. Adam Clark, superintendent of Mount Diablo Unified School District.

This was all funded through a voter-approved measure.
The superintendent says they chose the three schools that got upgraded by taking the number of students into consideration and history of upgrades.
Dr. Clark says many of the schools in the district have similar needs, so in terms of other sites getting upgrades, he said they will be looking at "what the future brings."
