New back-to-school comedy 'Never Change!' coming soon to Hulu

It's back to school for the class of '08, and things might not have changed as much as they thought!

Hulu just released the first trailer for the upcoming comedy movie, "Never Change!" which follows the 2008 graduating class of North Meadows High School coming back to class to finish out their senior year that was cut short by a tornado.

The trailer begins in a bar with the bartender (Carmen Christopher) ringing the bell for an early last call, because to everyone's annoyance, it's a school night for them once again.

In order to properly complete their diploma requirements 18 years later, the school needs to be exactly the way it was. The 30-somethings are seen fighting with old lockers, posing awkwardly for yearbook photos and rehearsing the same spring play.

"Everything has to be exactly the way it was in 2008," an administrator says to the exhausted faculty. "We can give this graduating class the fresh start it deserves!"

The returning 'students' still have some issues adjusting back to high school, though. A teacher scolds them to not drink in class, playing dodgeball in P.E. is a competitive struggle. And old flames that might not have fully been extinguished senior year can only be sparked again secretly in the library.

High school isn't entirely a bore for the adults, who are seen finally enjoying their final year prom dance. One of the students even tries to throw a house party, though being in his 30s complicates things a little.

"Party at my house tonight," the man says holding back tears. "My parents just died, everyone's gonna be there!"

"Oh my God, dude," another student says in worry.

"The house is totally to ourselves, and we're gonna rage! Classic."

It isn't all parties and hijinks though. The trailer shows students reckoning with the kind of people they were back in high school, how far they've come, and if they really have changed in the 18 years since.

It's a nice flavor of comedy with heart at the core, featuring stars like John Reynolds, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Carmen Christopher and Topher Grace.

"Never Change!'" is slated to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9 and comes to Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on June 17.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu, Disney+ and this ABC station.
