
OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- An Oakland neighborhood was evacuated Monday morning after police said a person possibly armed with a gun barricaded themselves inside a residence.
According to the Oakland Police Department, officers responded to shots fired in the 2800 block of Summit Street around 10:30 a.m.
Officers tried to make contact with the suspect, but police say that the individual may have barricaded themselves inside a residence with a firearm.
As a result, officers evacuated the area and are continuing their attempts to communicate with the suspect.
