HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- The Oscars red carpet is now rolled out as we count down to Hollywood's biggest night.
Crews have been working to set up for the awards ceremony in and around the Dolby Theatre for weeks, and on Wednesday they brought out the iconic walkway. The carpet itself is 900 feet long and 33 feet wide.
This year's Oscar nominees, movie stars, directors, producers and performers will all be walking down the carpet in front of local, national and international media.
Conan O'Brien, who is hosting the 98th Academy Awards for the second time, was on hand for the rollout.
He said that this time around, nothing and no one is off limits.
"This year, we're gonna go maybe a little bit more ambitious with some things," O'Brien said. "Last year... the fires and things like that. I was living out of a hotel so this year I'm hoping to get... we have some slightly bigger swings that we're going to take."
For now, the iconic carpet will be covered in plastic tarp as crews finish setting up the area before Sunday.
Disney is the parent company of this station.
