New memorial set up for 3 students who died in Piedmont Cybertruck crash 1 year ago this week

PIEDMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- It has been one year this week since a deadly Cybertruck crash in Piedmont killed three college students and injured another.

Soren Dixon, Krysta Tsukahara and Jack Nelson died in the crash on Nov. 27, 2024.

A fresh memorial has been arranged at the site of the crash.

Commemorative benches have also been permanently placed in public parks.

California Highway Patrol investigators say the driver was intoxicated when the truck collided with a tree at a high speed.

Highway Patrol is increasing DUI enforcement Wednesday night ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
