A brutal attack on a county fair animal has shocked a Kern County community as police look for a suspect.
A Frazier Mountain High School student discovered his pig, named Pancho, was stabbed while the animal was being kept at a high school barn, last Friday morning.
Police say the animal had been stabbed multiple times and was barely alive.
A veterinarian had to eventually euthanize the pig.
Future Farmers of America officials commented on the attack.
"This pig was 223 pounds. They're very strong, they're fighters, they don't die easily," Ag Advisory Board member and FFA alumna Cindy Holloway said. "I can guarantee you, this pig fought until he couldn't fight anymore."
Security video shows a person entering the barn.
The school launched a fundraiser to benefit the student who owned the pig as police look for the suspect.
