ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) -- Police have arrested the suspect accused of shooting an 11-year-old girl in Antioch.

Police have released details on the suspect in the shooting of a little girl in Antioch.

Antioch police said they are looking for the suspect and released an image of him.

They say he is suspected in the shooting of an 11-year-old girl who was struck by a stray bullet as she rode in her family's car Monday.

Investigators identified Hardy through a combination of video surveillance, witness statements, and forensic evidence.

Police say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, and the public is advised not to confront him. Police are asking anyone who knows where he is to call 9-1-1.

The father of an 11-year-old girl shot in the head in an Antioch apartment complex Monday said he feels like his heart is being ripped out.

The girl was sitting in the family car outside their home on Monday, when a stray bullet hit her in the head. APD say she was an innocent bystander.

Her family spoke with ABC7 News on Tuesday. The girl's dad described how difficult this is.

"She says, 'Dad, why can't I see?' It hurts me so much. Those are words I don't think any dad could handle," he said.

The girl is now in the ICU.
