FBI seizes $13 million car connected to former Olympian turned alleged drug kingpin
The FBI has seized a rare $13 million car connected to one of the fugitives on its 10 Most Wanted list, Ryan Wedding.
He's accused of running a criminal enterprise that has smuggled six metric tons of cocaine a year into Los Angeles via semitrucks from Mexico.
The seizure of the rare 2002 Mercedes CLK-GTR Roadster is part of the ongoing manhunt for 44-year-old Wedding, the alleged drug kingpin and former Canadian Olympic snowboarder.
Auto Blog says the car is one of only six Roadsters ever built.
Top law enforcement officials in the U.S. have put a $15 million bounty on Wedding's head, saying he has also orchestrated murders.
They say Wedding and his crew are responsible for moving billions of dollars worth of cocaine and other narcotics from Mexico to Southern California.

In a press conference earlier this month, FBI Director Kash Patel described Wedding as a "modern-day iteration of Pablo Escobar" or "El Chapo" Guzman.
"Ryan Wedding has orchestrated murders against his rivals, against cooperating witnesses, against anybody that crosses his path," said Akil Davis, the assistant director in charge of the FBI in Los Angeles.
The charges allege Wedding ordered the killing of a witness who was set to testify against him in a federal drug trafficking case.
