A "Phineas and Ferb" fan traveled from Milwaukee to San Diego Comic-Con to share his story with the cast and creators.

SAN DIEGO -- For a show that's been around for 18 years, "Phineas and Ferb's" fanbase is livelier than ever.
The cartoon, which originally premiered on Disney Channel in 2007, ran for four seasons and two movies before taking a years-long hiatus. This summer, the series debuted a new season, bringing around a new generation of eager fans.
On The Red Carpet caught up with the cast and creators of the show at their signing at San Diego Comic-Con.
"To feel the love of the fans for this show that I worked on for 18 years... I played Phineas since the very, very beginning of 'Phineas and Ferb,' and you can't ask for anything better than the kind of reception we've always had for our show," said Vincent Martella, who has been voicing Phineas since he was 13.
One "Phineas and Ferb" fan, who travelled all the way from Milwaukee, WI, shared his heartwarming story with us.
"'Phineas and Ferb' is very special to me. My mom was battling cancer when the show first started, and she couldn't move a whole lot, and so we just ended up watching the show a lot on the couch. And when I couldn't be there, she would text me, 'What'cha doin'?' said Josh Albrecht. "And now, I am a dad myself, and I have an 8-year-old. And now, we watch the show together, and so, it's kind of become full circle."
Albrecht told us he was able to share his story to the cast and creators.
"Getting to meet Dan (Povenmire) and 'Swampy' (Marsh) and the rest of them that made all of this was truly special. Just how the show has evolved, and yet touched so many people's lives and become so important to so many families, it was just a really cool conversation."
"Phineas and Ferb" is streaming now on Disney+.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney Channel, Disney+ and this ABC station.
