SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- After a 3-year hiatus, the Bay Bridge lights are officially shining again after a grand relighting ceremony on Friday in San Francisco. Governor Gavin Newsom, Mayor Daniel Lurie, and other VIPs came out to see the switch flipped.
Leo Villareal is the artist behind the lights, he also designed the original installation in 2013.

Villareal and several San Francisco leaders were on the Embarcadero Friday night to celebrate the reopening.
"Our arts, our culture has always led the way and we are doing so again and this illustration tonight... we are going to lean into our arts. We are going to lean into our creative class because nobody does it better than San Francisco," said Mayor Daniel Lurie.
