SF transportation officials investigating wild Muni train

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Muni is investigating how a regular morning commute turned scary for a trainload of riders.

A train violently shook -- then sped through a station.

People who spoke with our partners at SF Standard say it happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

As the train approached the Duboce Avenue and Noe Street Station, the train suddenly jerked from side to side, knocking some people down. Then, the train sped through the station and along a public road before coming to a stop.

Muni said in a statement that its preliminary investigation showed nothing was wrong with the train: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and will take any appropriate corrective actions to ensure the continued safety and reliability of our system."

Officials say they have "not received any reports of injuries."
