SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KGO) -- Due to beneficial rain over the last couple of months, the Santa Rosa Fire Department has declared the end of the local 2025 wildfire season.
The extra rainfall locally, on top of late summer and early fall showers, has reduced the fire risk in the area.
Santa Rosa can now suspend the city's weed abatement ordinance and begin to issue pile burning permits in the next several weeks.
Residents are still encouraged to remain wildfire ready.
