Scott Speedman joins ABC Tuesday lineup with 'RJ Decker'

ABC is introducing a new special investigator to its Tuesday night lineup.

"RJ Decker" stars Scott Speedman in the title role, Jaina Lee Ortiz as Emilia "Emi" Ochoa, Bevin Bru as Detective Melody "Mel" Abreau, Kevin Rankin as Aloysius "Wish" Aiken and Adelaide Clemens as Catherine Delacroix.

"RJ Decker" is inspired by the Carl Hiaasen novel "Double Whammy." According to the official synopsis, RJ Decker is a "disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colorful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida. The series follows him tackling cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy new benefactor - a woman from his past who could be his greatest ally...or his one-way ticket back to prison."

See the teaser in the video player above.

"RJ Decker" premieres March 3 at 10pm on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

With the addition of this new show, "The Rookie" will move to Mondays at 10pm. That'll take place sooner rather than later, beginning January 26, right after the premiere of "American Idol." The remaining episodes of "The Rookie" will now have a straight run through its season with no interruptions.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
