Sean "Diddy" Combs is eying Fort Dix as a place to serve his prison sentence because of its drug treatment program, according to a letter from one of his lawyers.
His attorneys asked Judge Arun Subramanian to recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Combs be sent to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
"In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix for RDAP purposes and any other available educational and occupational programs," defense attorney Teny Geragos said in a letter Monday.
RDAP, Residential Drug Abuse Program, is the Bureau's most intensive treatment program.
Fort Dix is a low security prison with about 4,000 inmates.
The request by Combs' lawyers comes just days after he was sentenced to more than four years in prison after a jury found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in July.
He gets credit for time served since his arrest. Combs has already spent 12 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
