Seattle Seahawks celebrate Super Bowl victory at Disneyland

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Seattle Seahawks celebrated their Super Bowl victory with a visit to Disneyland, and for one of them, it was a homecoming.

Orange County-born quarterback Sam Darnold and MVP Kenneth Walker III were the guests of honor at Disneyland's Super Bowl parade on Monday.

"I remember coming to Disneyland all the time with my family," Darnold told Eyewitness News. "It's unbelievable to be back here."

Darnold, who grew up in San Clemente, reflected on his roots during the celebration.

"It's incredible, just how much those people... mean to me, what they did for me growing up. There's so many countless people that are in that community that helped me grow into the person that I am today."

Standing beside him was Walker III, who had never visited Disneyland.

The celebration down Main Street, U.S.A. came less than 24 hours after winning Super Bowl LX - a whirlwind for the world champions.

"Be grateful for everything. You know, because you never know when it can be over," said Walker III.

The iconic Disney visit is a tradition that started in 1987 with Phill Simms of the New York Giants.

Looking ahead, plans for next year's big game are well underway in Los Angeles.

SoFi Stadium is officially on the clock. The largest NFL stadium, and home to the L.A. Rams and L.A. Chargers, hosted the Super Bowl in 2022. Now, it's gearing up to welcome the biggest game in American football back to Southern California on Feb. 14 2027.
