CONCORD, Calif. -- Seven people were arrested in Concord early Sunday morning after allegedly burglarizing the Sunvalley Shopping Center, according to police.
Just before 4 a.m., security at the mall contacted police about a burglary in progress. A large group of suspects forced entry into glass doors, busting one down.

Officers arrived and apprehended three suspects; four took off in a vehicle, leading to a police pursuit. The driver lost control and crashed, then jumped out and fled on foot. The three suspects left in the car were all arrested. The driver was located a short distance away, hiding in bushes and taken into custody.
One suspect was allegedly found to be in possession of a firearm with modifications that made it an assault weapon.
